Why did you choose this goal? How do you expect it to improve the outcomes of your future students?

Improving my Engagement Practices

I chose this goal because students were saying they were bored. So, I believe that being more creative lets teachers to think outside the box and adds more real-world problems for students to solve. When teaching is more enjoyable, bridges can be formed and independence and self-assessment can take place and learning becomes meaningful.

Classroom Management

I chose this goal because I am finding behavior problems in my classroom and I know that only through effective procedures and routines my learners will not be in an environment that will support all their learning needs.  In the future, to have a structured classroom I have been spending weeks building a classroom community, going over the rules, and letting them know the class expectations daily and I believe when this is achieved learning for all cannot only be possible but independent increase self-efficacy and make learning impactful.

Implement Best teaching Practices

 

I chose this goal to expand my personal repertoire of strategies to assist students with developmental delays such as language, motor, visual/ spatial and sensory. By increasing my understanding of the various types of developmental delays in young children I will be better equipped to plan and build the strategies necessary to bridge the gap in education and allow learners to meet their academic goals.

End Date: By when do you expect to accomplish this goal?

I think there is no end date for creating new engaging teaching strategies all my goals are ongoing to better suit all the different learners’ needs.

By, the end of November, I think my classroom community and structure will be formed. But, it can only be beneficial if learners are held accountable and reminded throughout the entire year.
